Environmental education

  • Let us explore our springs - 2 national level projects funded by the Latvian Environmental Fund, resulted in methodological manual about how to explore springs, and numerous school grass-root activities.2004-2005

  • Schools for sustainability in the Baltic States– project funded by Matra programme, implemented in 3 Baltic States, what resulted in development of methodological material in Lavian language, ToT programme and pilot ecoteams in 9 Latvian schools ( 2001-2003). Based on gained experience 2 new projects were implemented in the following years.

  • Ecoteams – a model for sustainable development opportunities in school and family “ – follow up of previous project, funded by Latvian Environmental Fund. Resulted in development of 60 ecoteams all over Latvia, training of teachers and establishment of national Ecoteams focal point and web site.( 2003-2004)

Ecoteams - a model for sustainable development opportunities in school and family funded by the Latvian Environmental Fund was implemented in 2003-2004. Aims of this project - to organize ecoteam leaders training seminars in Latvia (in different regions, focusing on rural area), to assist in establishing ecoteams and to support them. We were planning 3 seminars, but responsiveness was extensive and resulted in 4 training seminars. 85 ecoteams leaders were trained to coach pupils work. In the school year 2003/2004 55 ecoteams were established in 19 districts (26 districts in country) with total amount of 635 children. 

  • Nature Trail – nature protection and environmental education opportunity” project funded by Latvian Environmental Fund, targeted at development of knowledge and skills of tourism operators and interested parties to be prepared for nature sound business. Resulted in development of guidelines. (2002)
